We are always in search of donors to further achieve our objectives and to have a larger impact on society.

As a donor, you can choose to donate funds to cover the full cost of one or more sponsorship packages for the duration of a particular course. This would include tuition fees, transportation allowance, laptop, PPE kit and uniforms (see next section below for full breakdown of costs).

Alternatively, you can choose to make single or recurring donations, which will be used by Tabaxh towards covering the costs of scholarships. All proceeds go directly towards the scholarships.

Higher education costs in The Gambia

The cost of tuition fees, uniforms, personal protective equipment (PPE) and other equipment and tools required to complete a course at university or college level in The Gambia often makes up a large percentage of a typical Gambian household income.

As a result, many women in The Gambia are unable to pursue a higher education and are forced to end their studies after completing their primary or secondary education.

Below is a breakdown of the basic costs associated with sponsoring a Tabaxh scholar.

Tuition: £140 - £400

The annual tuition fees for construction-related courses at university or college level in The Gambia range from £140 - £160 (D12,635 - D14,455)* for Certificate and Diploma courses, up to £270 (D24,325)* for OND courses and £400 (D33,000)* for Bachelor courses. *Based on February 2025 exchange rates.

Transportation: £300

The annual transportation costs are estimated to cost up to £300 on average per student.

Uniforms: £50

Uniforms are a requirement in some higher education institutions such as University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET). This is a one-off contribution given to the student at the start of their course.

PPE: £70

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for Health and Safety during practicals and work placement. This is a one-off contribution given to the student at the start of their course.
